In terms of experience, I began my career as an intern for LaSalle University (2012). I worked for them as a web & Graphic Designer right up until my graduation in 2013. After finishing my B.A, I started freelancing & continued my career in higher education. I landed a Web Communications Assistant position with Stockton University (2014). This role was part time which allowed me to freelance on the side for my own company, Rivera Projects, LLC. I was with Stockton into 2015 year prior to finding full time work.
Currently I am working for Hi-Tec Systems, Inc. as their Web Developer. I am a full time employee of Hi-Tec serving the Federal Aviation Administration. With school and full time work, I slowly stopped freelancing with the exception of minor projects.
As the Web Developer my daily goals are to update and manage several of the FAA's websites while also supporting ongoing project work from other Programmers & Computer Scientists. The primary skills that will be used on a daily basis are: mySQL, ColdFusion, HTML(4/5), CSS3, FTP(WinSCP & FileZilla), JavaScript, Markdown, Lektor Static Site Generation, BitBucket, and Git. The primary applications that are used to develop are Brackets, NotePad++ and Dreamweaver. I am challenged with managing the Front End as well as the Back End of all website projects. As the assistant to the Web Communications department, my role is to assist with daily implementation and upkeep of the Website. I am also tasked with concept and creation of new content as related to the Web. in addition it is my role to help upkeep, manage, and improve the web based on the standards that the company upholds. I am also challenged with editing and managing the website and its content through its content management system, eyos. Furthermore, I worked under the Associate Director of Web Communications and performed tasks and research to help the web presence of the Stockton Website
The Graphic Designer is responsible for creating and designing all of the posters, flyers, t-shirts, banners and logos for all of the activity clubs that are offered at La Salle University. As a Web Developer I am responsible for creating, managing, maintaining, and teaching respective organizations how to use their club activity website. WordPress is primarily used, while there is still CSS and HTML required. Furthermore, I worked under the Associate Director of Administrative Services and performed tasks and research to help the web presence of the LaSalle Website
